What is an ergonomic chair and why is it so important that an ergonomic chair is industrialized?
The importance of using equipment that helps increase the health of the body was considered by many office equipment designers and led to the production of ergonomic chairs.
A good ergonomic chair is made out of comfortable materials. The material should not cause the user’s back to sweat. However, the materials used will depend on the budget; high-end ergonomic chairs will use leather or velvet.
Supports the back of the head and the upper neck, reducing tension in the shoulders and upper torso.
Seat height range
Check whether the seat height can be adjusted to the height recommended for the worker(s) who will use it. Alternate chairs may have to be selected for very short or tall workers. Ideally, a user should be able to sit with their feet on the floor or on a footrest without pressure on the underside of their thighs.
Where the angle of the seat is adjustable, the seat should allow users to support their feet on the floor or footrest. Forward sloping seats should have a surface that has enough friction to prevent the user from sliding out of the chair or placing too much weight on their feet.
Wheels are used for easy movement in the designs of the chair bases.
